Distinguished members of the cycling community, I sincerely congratulate the opening of the Tour de Gyeongnam 2026, held along the beautiful South Coast of Gyeongnam, where the noble spirit and legacy of Admiral Yi Sun-sin still live on.

I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Gyeongsangnam-do, the Korea Cycling Federation, the Gyeongnam Cycling Federation, the host cities and counties, and all those involved in preparing this event, for their great support and dedication in helping promote Gyeongnam’s South Coast as a world-class tourist destination through this race.

Dear athletes from around the world this year’s race brings together 25 teams from 19 countries, covering a 527-kilometer course over five days

through Geoje, Tongyeong, Sacheon, Namhae, and Changwon in Gyeongnam.

I look forward to seeing your outstanding performances set against the breathtaking natural scenery of Gyeongnam’s South Coast. I wish all athletes great success and a safe race.
